Sins Playing cards
The seven deadly sins playing card deck is a custom-designed deck I made that reimagines the classic playing card format through the lens of temptation, excess, and human vice. Each face card is carefully crafted to represent one of the seven sins, using symbolic imagery and gothic-inspired linework to bring their personalities to life. The suits and ranks were intentionally chosen to reflect the nature of each sin, ensuring that every card feels thematically cohesive. The back design features a symmetrical, occult-inspired composition incorporating an all-seeing eye, and hidden sigils that represent the interconnected nature of sin. A limited color palette of deep crimson, gold, and black reinforces the dark, elegant atmosphere of the deck.
This project combines illustration, typography, and storytelling, creating a deck that functions both as a playable set of cards and a collectible art piece. I focused on detailed linework, and ornate typography to enhance the richness of each design. Inspired by medieval religious art, baroque patterns, and occult symbolism, this deck explores the duality of beauty and corruption. Whether displayed as an art piece or used in gameplay, the deck is meant to immerse the viewer in a world of temptation and consequence.
